The 2008 festival theme is The Star of Texas, and one of the best things about our great state. The incredible beauty of the arboretum, will be highlighted throughout the festival. This will include music, food, celebrities, poetry, and our rich history. The centerpiece of Dallas Blooms: The Star of Texas, will include a giant flower-filled star and other theme-inspired topiaries that will fill the garden. Dallas Blooms will feature more than 400,000 spring-blooming bulbs, over 3,000 azaleas and thousands of another annuals and perennials spread throughout the 66-acre garden. Apr.  2 - 4, 2008 - 8th Annual North Texas Jazz Festival (Addison, TX)
The North Texas Jazz Festival in Addison is a collaboration between the UNT Jazz Studies Division and the Town of Addison. Together we host an annual jazz festival that includes performances by top UNT ensembles, major jazz headliners, and outstanding school groups from across the United States. The entire festival takes place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Addison, TX. It is an invitational festival, and middle school, high school, community college and university groups submit an application and recording for consideration to participate each year. Apr. 2 - 6, 2008 - Dallas Auto Show (Dallas, TX)
One of the most anticipated annual events in the Metroplex, the Dallas Auto Show is the ideal opportunity for consumers to compare styling and pricing of every major line make under one roof in just a few hours. The Dallas Auto Show was conceived in 1982, and now boasts more than 550,000 square feet of new cars, trucks and SUVs at the Dallas Convention Center and an attendance of close to 400,000 auto enthusiasts. Race week starts on April 3 with The Dallas Morning News Qualifying Days NASCAR Series. On April 4, The Dallas Morning News Qualifying Day as the Sprint Cup Series superstars practice and qualify.  Saturday, April 5 is the O’Reilly 300 and on Sunday is the Samsung 500. Apr. 3 - 20, 2008 - Snake Eyes at the Mardi Gras Motel -Play (Addison, TX)
Second Thought Theatre is proud to present a fresh new play by Resident Playwright Steven Walters. For 57 years, Ennis has showcased over 40 miles of mapped Bluebonnet trails. In 1997, Ennis was named the “Official Bluebonnet City of Texas” and the “Official Bluebonnet Trail of Texas” by the State Legislature.
