The Dallas Zoo today announced that with just six days of operation under its belt, the Dallas Zoo’s new Giants of the Savanna has enjoyed over 40,000 guests (40,828 to be exact). Memorial Day weekend attendance was up about 30%, with an increase to 21,241 attendees in 2010 from 16,409 attendees in 2009. In response to increased demand, the Dallas Zoo will open the Giants of the Savanna and Wilds of Africa habitats at 8:00 AM every Saturday and Sunday in June, and that guests who present a same-day DART pass at admission will receive a $2 discount on weekends, in addition to Mondays and Tuesdays throughout June.
