Oct. 8 - 10, 2009 - Texas Rose Festival (Tyler, TX)

Oct. 8 - 11, 2009 - 13th annual After Dark in the Park (Arlington, TX)
13th annual After Dark in the Park, October 8 - 11, at River Legacy Parks. After Dark in the Park is a family friendly fall festival held at River Legacy Parks and River Legacy Living Science Center featuring storytelling, pumpkin patch, karaoke, hayride shuttle, bounce house, and a children's area with a variety of games and activities. Oct. 8, 2009 - Dallas Arboretum Cool Thursdays Fall Concert-Tuxedo Junction (Dallas, TX)
Gates open at 6 pm. Concert begins at 7:30-9:30pm. With a vision to recreate the sound, the look, and the mood of the big bands of the 30's and 40's, Tuxedo Junction offers a refreshing and authentic, musical recreation of the 'Big Band Swing Era'. “Jump and Jive” with Tuxedo Junction to hits including: “Mambo #5,” “Unforgettable,” and many more on Thursday, October 8. 67th Annual Shrine Circus at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum, 3401 West Lancaster, Fort Worth, TX 76107 - Affordable family fun with high-wire, slack-wire, motorcycles, aerial artistry, clowns, tigers, elephants and camels. Oct. 9 – 11, 2009 – Oktoberfest Southlake – (Southlake, TX)
This year will mark the eighth annual Oktoberfest celebration hosted by Southlake's Chamber of Commerce! Nearly 50,000 people visit throughout the weekend festival! To attend this event isn't going to cost you a thing...even the parking is free! This is excluding food and beverages, and booth items. Come take a stroll in Southlake's beautiful Town Square while looking at the unique, handcrafted arts and crafts booths. Great food, and live entertainment are also at your fingertips during this fun-filled event. The kids will have a great time in the excitement-packed children's area! Oct. 9 - 10, 2009 - Musicarte de Fort Worth (Fort Worth, TX)
Join us in Downtown Fort Worth at Sundance Square Friday & Saturday, October 9 – 10 for the Southwest's largest Latino festival. A colorful and exciting celebration of Latino cultures, featuring entertainment, dance, art, food and fun! National entertainers will headline a fun-filled, two-day free festival. The arts of the Americas--South, Central and North—come to the heart of Texas during Musicarte de Fort Worth. Our entertainment committee is working hard on the full lineup for the fall, but it will be spectacular and will set the tempo for Musicarte. The visual, performing, culinary and vintner’s arts of all Latino cultures are featured in Musicarte this year. Oct. 10 & 11, 2009 - 17th Annual NTASHA Fall Classic Horse Show (Irving, TX)
NTASHA (North Texas American Saddlebred Horse Association) welcomes you to the 17th Annual NTASHA Fall Classic Horse Show. This year's horse show will be on October 10-11, 2009. This year's horse show will once again be held at the Las Colinas Equestrian Center in Irving, Texas Our Fall Classic Horse Show provides an opportunity for American Saddlebred Horse, Academy Rider, Tennessee Walking Horse, Spotted Saddle Horse, Amateur Country Pleasure Horse, Racking Horse, and Any Breed Class supporters of all ages to experience their breed at its best. Oct. 10 & 11, 2009 - 26th International Bar-B-Que Cookoff (Grand Prairie, TX)
Barbeque smoke will fill the air for two days in five different competitions during the 25th Annual International Bar-B-Que Cookers Association Cookoff on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 - 11, 2009 at Traders Village in Grand Prairie. This is one of the largest BBQ events in Texas and this year’s event is expected to be even larger. Over 100 cookers will prepare over 600 judging samples, in the two days of competition. Thousands of dollars in prize money will attract BBQ cooks from across the state and beyond. Oct. 10, 2009 - Midlothian Fall Festival & 5K Downhill Dash (Midlothian, TX)
This year’s Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 9:00am-4:00pm at the MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium, Hwy 287 Bypass at S. 14th Street The Fall Festival is a fun-filled Saturday featuring up to 200 booths with arts & crafts, artists, food vendors, children’s activities and a 5K Run. Registration for the Christelle Moser Memorial 5K Run is now open! This event will begin and end at the Festival. Check-in opens at 7:00am, and the race starts at 8:00am. Oct. 10, 2009 - Basic 5k/10k/1mi to benefit Water is Basic (Irving, TX)
The third annual Basic 5 K, 10 K and 1 mile fun walk, presented by Las Colinas Medical Center and sponsored by Luke’s Locker. Free dri-fit shirts to the first 800 at packet pick up; Trophies for the first three men, the first three women, and first three children under 8 to finish; Medals for age group 12 & under, and age groups 12 to 80+; Both Races are certified and sanctioned by USA Track & Field; Race proceeds benefit Water is Basic, providing clean drinking water to the people of Southern Sudan.  Details at www.waterisbasic.org/home/basic_5k
