Town-Mall's Meta Tags Generator is a free tool to assist in creating your meta tags for
search engine submissions and marketing. |
|
| Title
- This is what will appear in the title bar of your visitor's browser and what
the search engines will use as a title to your web site. This
field should be no more than 70 characters in length and contain as
many of your keywords as possible but yet still making a good
sentence. If this sentence does not sound enticing, then it
won't matter how you are ranked in a search engine, because no one
will click on the link. Get maximum exposure and use as many
characters as possible but not more than 70. A good rule
here is 65 to 70 characters. The field below will only
allow you to insert a maximum of 70 characters. |

| Description - To give your potential visitors
an idea of what the web page is all about, write a short summary of
your web site. Use your keywords here and words you used in
your title from above. This field should not have more than
150 characters but should not be less than 140 characters. A
good character count would then be between 145 and 150. After
you have written your summary, press the "Test Character
Length" button to find out the character count of your
description. Make changes if needed and test again until you
get the count below 150.

| Abstract -
In some search engines, they will not list the description from
above, but will instead list an abstract or summary of your
description. Use as many keywords as possible, but make sure your
wording makes a good readable sentence. Character count should
be less than 70 but more than 65. Be sure and test the length,
however this field will only accept 70 characters. Many search
engines no longer use the Description or the abstract, but instead
go and look at the first few lines of text on your web page.
You may consider using your description from above somewhere very
close to the top of your web page for those search engine
results. NEVER, hide your wording by making it the same color
as your background because the robots looking at your web site are
also looking for this spamming method. If a robot detects
this, you may be removed from their search engine totally and your
site never accepted in the future. It's not worth the
risk!!!!!!

| Keywords - Getting the format of your keywords
is very important. First of all, select your keywords to be
used for the page you are creating these meta tags for and place
them in the "Keyword Input" field below. Keyword
length should be no more than about 375 characters. Yes, some people
will tell you to use 700 to 800 keywords, but that's the wrong thing
to do because most search engines will consider this high number to
be spamming the search engine and it's possible to be removed
totally from the search engine all together. When a search
engine indexes your keywords, it will remove all comas and create
just a word list. If my keywords used were "restaurants,
dallas restaurants, fort worth restaurants", the search engine
would just see "restaurants dallas restaurants fort worth
restaurants". Note the word "restaurants" was
used 3 times. Never exceed the 4 time limit!!!! Our
program will help you with this and will count your repeat words
after you press the "Analyze Keywords" button below. |
|
Keyword Input:
|
|
| Do not change unless needed - Do not count as a word if word
is less than characters
in length
|
| Do not change unless needed - Do not list as a keyword if not listed above or
more times
|
|
Click this button. If a keyword was used more than 3 times (shown in
the next box) , go back to the box above
and remove keywords until you have no one word counted more than 3
times. Keep analyzing until you have no keyword used more than 3
times.

States are just don't know what character set to use, leave this

field for you and you may want to compare it to what is created from
this program.

page, or the person last updating the web page. |

search engines. Use our default if not sure about how you want
your web site listed. |

| Robot Revisit-After - Here you are inviting the
search engine robot to come back and see you from time to
time. Remember, it takes about 4 to 8 weeks for the robot to
visit you the first time, so don't get carried away here by asking
it to visit you daily. Our suggestion would be
for every 15 days or more. |

| Rating - One day in the near future, every site
that gets listed in a search engine will have to have a ratings tag
unlike this one; however, this tag may remain after you receive a
RATINGS TAG from either ICRA
or SafeSurf.
With more and more people placing filtering software on their
computer, it would be wise to rate your web site with one or both
companies. Since you built it, you want them to come,
right. Get your tags from them or you will loose a lot of
visitors to your site. Don't cheat with these guys on your
ratings or it could get you in a lot of trouble. |
